Kinja'd!!!

Mostly about the generation Stang I wanna put the motor in when it's done again. I know I've been calling it the "Fox Boss Project" because the original plan was to have the finished motor be put into a Fox Body; but I love both the '94-95(vertical tri-bar taillights!!) and any Fox Body(But 4-eyes is best). Thinking from the perspective that even though I'd be going the carburetor-route, I'd like the car to be driven as daily as possible, with much comfort, torque and speed, between my dad and myself whenever it's completed; which do you think based on looks, personal experiences and in detail would be the best?

One factor is structure. From what I've researched the SN-95 is an improved Fox and can handle more power and torque stock than a Fox; the latter has been known to have it's frame bent from all the torque it puts out(and this is even with a stock 302!!)

The other factor is cost, the SN-95, in V6 can be had for under 1000 ready to drive back to the workplace and swap the new motor in no problem; to find a driveable Fox to bring back is in excess of $2k unless you find a 4-cylinder(NOPE).

Kinja'd!!!

This is just me thinking way down the road, but what say you Oppo?

I was gonna suggest a 5.0 to put in a SN-95 but.. if you already have a motor (which one?) then I support the SN-95 build. I'd invest in some MaximumMotorsports frame-stiffening kit immediately. and a variety of tower (under and over) braces.
What is the goal of your project?

I've wanted to build one on the basis to have a killer road/race car.. on 03' Machined Termi Cobra wheels (no dish).. Lowered on Sportlines on Koni Adjustables or coilovers (but I like static). with projector HID headlights.. (TSX proggs), and a variety of other things.. thats just me though

Go Fox body. Sub frame connectors and a notch back would get you more structural rigidity. and I hope you aren't planning on having a manual in the fox if you want to make a lot or torque, cause the T-5 at max was designed for 330 Ft/lb max.

Plus much simpler cars to work on, in my opinion.

I think the fox is the winner, Simpler and lighter, Colin Chapman would choose the fox body.

I've got a 302 short block out of a '95 Mustang GT; It'll work in any Mustang with the right parts for the year of the body, but yeah.

But that's the thing, I want a hatch though, and it'll need more structural rigidity, and It's going/must be a manual. Why not a manual?

Have you built it up at all?

Titling and emissions testing.

If, say, you lived in a state like NJ your car would be exempt from all testing when it was 25+ years old. So that's 1989 this year.

If you were to buy a 1995 car and carb it you'd be fucked, because you'd probably have tons of trouble being forced to get it emissions tested. You'd have to wait until 2020 to be smog exempt.

But since you are in Michigan, shits are not given as they were ripped out of lamp posts with all the copper.

Pick the strongest body/chassis and go from there!

Well it's not gonna be a drag car; 330 ft/lbs would be more than enough torque IMO, if I can get the motor to do that much.

Well my friends and I just started working on it last week; the block has been disassembled and needs to be checked for cracks and then hot tanked and bored .030 over before we get a rebuild kit for it. I've got a set of heads I'll need to order tomorrow.

Strongest stock would be SN-95; Fox would need stuff added to be on or above the SN-95s level.

V6 SN-95s are cheaper than Foxes to find, V8s here are about the same and higher because they're mostly modded and in great condition; most Foxes, not so much.

Get a '94. Good car, interior can be a bit 90's but the '94 GT Vert we have is nice, aside from the A/C not working and the gearbox slips occasionally. Oh and it's an auto.

96-98 GTs around here are cheap as well sometimes cheaper vs a 94-95. The PI heads (99 to 04 GT and intake are worth pretty big gains when they area swapped into 96-98 cars)

If you're looking for comfort and drivability in general, the SN95 seems like a good bet. Probably the second most comfortable car I've ever been in. Add in what you already stated about the structure of the car in general, and its a good call. If you are planning on doing anything involving handling, though, you would want to replace the coil springs in the front and the leaf springs in the back. The original factory ones are not stiff at all.

Yet, I feel like a Fox Body would be better bet, especially for the engine that you have. You can find ones on CL that are clean, ready to have an engine dropped in, and for decent prices. While you can find plenty of V6 SN95's, tons of work would need to be done for a 302 to be dropped in one. It also seems like the Fox-Bodies have a lot more of an aftermarket following than SN95's, so parts would be more readily available.

What about this? http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/cto/468092…

Or this? http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/cto/467946…

EDIT: Didn't read the comments. Looks like both of those were already pointed out. My bad.

Might I recommend a catless H for your setup. :) I had one for my 07 GT and it sounded amazing. I had a catted-x but it didn't sound nearly as good as that H did.
